Federal Dept. of Labor Apprenticeship Program
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training offers apprenticeship programs designed to provide workers the skills needed to compete in a global economy.
Apprenticeships offer a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction in which workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation. Apprenticeship programs are sponsored by joint employer and labor groups, individual employers, and employer associations.
The Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training (BAT) registers apprenticeship programs and apprentices in 23 states.
To apply, call the local Job Service Office or nearest Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training office listed in the blue pages of the telephone directory, or employers and unions engaged in the trade you want to enter.
